How To Prevent The Spread of Germs at the Office this Flu Season

It’s that time of year again, when flu season is in full swing and people are doing everything they can to avoid being the next culprit.

Unless you work from home and are able to avoid other people for days at a time, chances are you’re going to come into contact with germs whether you like it or not.

If you do end up getting a cold or flu, make sure you do your part to prevent the spread of germs, it’s just what you’d expect from your co-workers too!

In this article we’ll talk about a few ways you can keep your germs to yourself, as well as natural ways you can kill your infection so you can feel healthy and energetic again (and so your co-workers can breathe easy!)

Stock up on those tissues

Tissues aren’t just for a runny nose! Even if you don’t have much congestion and are only dealing with a cough, coughing into a tissue instead of your hands can prevent the spread of germs to your hands and then to every surface you touch afterwards.

To avoid germs spreading like wildfire through the office, keep a box of tissues at your desk, a pack in your pocket and in your car!

Wash your hands regularly

This goes without saying, but you may need to wash your hands a little more often when you’re sick. Many people like hand sanitizer, but the common antibacterial agent found in them called Triclosan has been linked to hormonal disruptions so we like to avoid them and rely on good ol’ soap and water instead.

Use warm water and wash your hands properly to keep them clean and germ free!

Keep some disinfectant wipes close by

Make it a habit to wipe down your desk with a disinfecting wipe a few times a day to avoid any germs that may be lingering.

Look for eco-friendly wipes like these.

Boost your immunity with natural antibiotics and antioxidants

While fighting the flu it’s important to stay hydrated and to fill your body with antioxidants and nutrients to boost your immune system, fight off infection and shorten the duration of your cold or flu.

Add our vitamin C sachets to water and sip throughout the day to flood your body with antioxidants that will fight infection and reduce inflammation.

Be sure to also fill up on these natural antibiotics, raw garlic is truly a lifesaver and our favorite of them all!

Stay home if you need to

Last, but not least, don’t be afraid to call in sick if you feel extra lousy.

Sometimes your body needs rest to recover so be sure to listen and give it all the rest it needs. This is also important to prevent putting your co-workers at risk when your cold or flu is at its peak.

Follow these tips and not only will you get better in no time at all, you won’t make any enemies at the office!
